Country overview
The Wide Brown Land

Australia is the world's sixth-largest country β€” and understanding its scale is essential to planning any visit. Our tours are designed to cover three or four distinct regions rather than trying to see everything, allowing enough time in each place to appreciate it properly.

Our signature Reef, Rock & Rainforest tour covers three of Australia's most extraordinary natural environments: the Great Barrier Reef (the world's largest coral system, visible from space), Uluru (the sacred sandstone monolith at the continent's heart), and the Daintree Rainforest (the oldest tropical rainforest on earth, older than the Amazon). Together they represent three fundamentally different faces of Australia β€” each extraordinary in its own right.

Great Barrier Reef
The world's largest coral reef system β€” snorkelling and diving from a private vessel with a marine biologist guide.
Uluru at Dawn & Dusk
The sacred Anangu monolith changes colour from ochre to deep crimson as the sun rises and sets over the desert.
Daintree Rainforest
The oldest tropical rainforest on earth β€” cassowaries, tree kangaroos, and a river cruise through ancient flora.
Aboriginal Culture
We spend time with Anangu guides at Uluru learning the Tjukurpa β€” the ancient law that connects people, land, and all living things.

"Snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef with just 15 of us on the boat. The guide knew every coral head, every turtle. The most extraordinary underwater experience of my life."

"Uluru at dawn β€” the colour changes are something no photograph captures. Our Anangu guide explained the Tjukurpa and I understood for the first time why this place is sacred."

"The Kimberley is one of the world's last great wilderness areas. No other tourists, helicopter to Mitchell Falls, hovercraft through the Horizontal Falls. Extraordinary."

Frequently asked
Australia Travel Questions
Is it still possible to climb Uluru?
No β€” climbing Uluru was permanently closed in October 2019 out of respect for its sacred status to the Anangu people. Our tours explore the base walk and cultural sites with Anangu guides instead.
What is the best time to visit the Great Barrier Reef?
June to October offers the best visibility and water temperature. We avoid the wet season (November–April) when cyclones are possible and box jellyfish are present.
How long should I allow for Australia?
Australia rewards more time than most visitors allow. Our 14-day tour covers three regions comfortably β€” adding Sydney or Melbourne before the tour is popular.
Can I combine Australia with New Zealand?
Yes β€” our Australia & New Zealand combination is very popular. Ask your advisor about the right itinerary for the time you have.
