Lavender fields in Provence, the Côte d'Azur glittering below clifftop villages, châteaux rising from the Loire, and Paris — the city that invented the idea of beauty — France remains the world's most visited country for very good reason.

Country overview
La Belle France

France is the world's most visited country — and it earns that distinction. Nowhere else combines great art, great food, great wine, and great landscapes in quite the same proportion. The French take quality seriously in a way that permeates every aspect of daily life, from the morning croissant to the evening Burgundy.

Our tours focus on two of France's most compelling regions: Provence with its lavender fields, Roman ruins, and hilltop villages, combined with the extraordinary Côte d'Azur; and the Loire Valley with its extraordinary concentration of Renaissance châteaux, accessible from Paris. Both itineraries are slower-paced than our other European tours — France rewards those who take their time.

Loire Valley Châteaux
Chambord, Chenonceau, Villandry — the greatest concentration of Renaissance architecture in the world.
French Food & Wine
From Provençal bouillabaisse to Loire Valley goat's cheese and Burgundy wine — France's regional food culture is unmatched.

"The lavender fields near Valensole in full bloom — photographed from a hilltop village as the sun set. Then dinner in Aix with rosé wine. France in its finest moment."

"Eze village above Monaco at sunset. The view over the Mediterranean from 400 metres. Our guide found a tiny restaurant with five tables that we would never have discovered alone."

"Chambord at dawn — just our group of 14, no other visitors. The château is extraordinary and the guide's knowledge of François I was remarkable."
